A Happy Homecoming that was Almost Happier

I'm finally updating this more than two weeks after the season is done, by I would like to say thanks again for a fun season that ended on a high as we had very competitive games at the end of the campaign.

Homecoming was also great fun to have alums Matt Seal, Megan McNew< Mark Goldman and Jeff Britton back in the fold! Also congrats to newlyweds Mark and Becca on earning co-king (tied with moi of course) and queen. And thanks to everyone who joined in the chants and helped eat Halloween candy.

As for the actual game, well that was pretty exciting too. Unfortunately we fell behind 5-0 but things really turned around after that. I was able to knock in Mark in the bottom of the third to cut it to 5-1. In the fourth, Seal's bomb of a triple scored Angie and then Crook's solid shot cut the lead to 6-3. In the fifth, the ladies got things going with Hilary, Allie, Megan and Becca loading the bases and producing a run, but unfortunately the boys made the outs and we fell 7-4.

Everyone in the lineup had a hit and Angie had three hits and a run scored. Homecoming MVP!

Great season and hope everyone is back in the spring (mark March 9 on your calendars!)

Game 7 Preview: Third time's a charm

OK gang, we've had two rain outs and both times it's been against the Toot and Booters, whose name I addressed in a previous post. But this time the forecast is looking good so we should be in for some good outdoor times before Old Man Winter arrives.

The Booters are 2-2-2, so they will be looking for a win to get over the .500 mark. We meanwhile will be hoping to get a boost from the alum coming back for homecoming. In honor of homecoming there are going to be some sweet signs and face paint is encouraged.
