Week 3 Review: The Guarantee

Well, not everyone can be Joe Namath and come through with guaranteed wins, so I guess I'm more along the lines of that guy no one remembers who said the Steelers would beat the Pats in 2007.

And even though the Pabst may not have improved anyone's playing ability, it hopefully numbed your eyes to the sight of all those pale legs we were facing.

In the end, we faced the same basic problems in the 7-2 loss as the previous week: A couple overthrows led to a big inning and our offense got off to a slow start.

That said, we did start to kick safely late in the game. We reached based safely seven times and had it not been for a hard line drive that turned into a double play and a play where the third basewoman was allowed to block out Becca we would ave wound up with way more than the two runs.

Also, special props to Tim, who got a hit in his first at-bat, caught the first fly ball sent his way and bought a round of beers for the whole team at the bar. Now that's a first game!

Also, Jeff earned a smiley face and Mark earned a lightning bolt on defense from Jason; I don't remember what for because it was a week ago, but great job!
