Week 3 was a big night for us, as our offense finally broke through and scored 11 runs. We even scored seven runs in one inning to take the lead in the fourth, but alas we could not hold the lead. Nonetheless, it was good to see the offense get going. Highlights:
Chad got us going early by leading off the game with a hit and scoring a run. Then he topped that with a 3-run HR! Overall Chad had three hits.
Matt really picked up the slack for the defense, catching about five balls and chasing down at least a dozen more as those guys were kicking it foul to ware him out. Fail, Matt still was catching them all. He also had a hit and scored in the fourth.
Angie was a perfect 4 for 4, including a double over their head and scoring a run. She also made a really nice running catch on a liner up the middle.
Nate made the last out of the game, but at least he slid/rolled into home and scored three runs and kicked in three runs.
Becca followed Angie's lead and also went a perfect 4 for 4 and she also scored a run and had an RBI.
Katie kicked in a run, had a hit in the fourth and was very versatile on defense making plays in the infield and outfield.
Jessica made it back-to-back jack by also kicking in yet another run in the fourth.
Andrew was feeling very down because of his plate slump, but he ought to shake out of it now as he roped a double to the gap and scored.
Hilary had a very involved statistical night. First, she took over the team lead in walks with her eagle eye in the fourth and then dropped in a nice hit in the fifth. She also did not fall for their first basemen's attempt to dupe her by telling her to go when she knew all along that it was him saying it so she didn't go. Then when they tried dirty tricks like having their girls kick doubles, Hilary took revenge by pegging her in the face when she got to third base. Take that tricksters!
Allie was all modest in insisting that she hit at the end of the lineup. Then she goes out and gets a single and a double. Way to use reverse psychology!
